Installation of the shared component iculib fails during installation of SAS® 9.2 in the z/OS environment. Some failures might appear in the sasinstall.log file.
Iculib is the International Components for Unicode. It is used by the SORT procedure when users take advantage of linguistic collation.
If the iculib is not installed, the following error will occur if you use the SORT procedure:
proc sort data=sashelp.class SORTSEQ=LINGUISTIC;
by name; run;
ERROR: Cannot perform linguistic collation.
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.
NOTE: PROCEDURE SORT used (Total process time):
real time 0.29 seconds
cpu time 0.03 seconds
ERROR: Could not find extension: (icudt34)
ERROR: Unable to load extension: (lceicu)
This defect will be fixed as of Revision 920_09w44.
